Ocean Aire (OA) is a full service Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
Fixed Base Operator (FBO) based at the R.J.Miller Airpark (MJX), Ocean
County, New Jersey.
It is Ocean Aire's mission to provide quality aviation services to the
regional/local corporate and general aviation community, principally in
the North East.
MJX, is located 50 nm southwest of New York City, 45 nm east of
Philadelphia and 40 nm north of Atlantic City. This is a very attractive
location for business aviation. Our local major commercial airports in
the NY Metropolitan area are experiencing severe delays. MJX utilization
can minimize these delays. Manhattan is approximately 30 minutes away by
Helicopter or approximately an hour by car.
Every service to operate a corporate aircraft is here, and convenient to
major metropolitan areas, without experiencing the delays commonly seen at Teterboro, Morristown and several other northeast airports. This is a
convenient location for Corporate Aviation to deliver clients to NYC
airports such as EWR JFK TEB and LGA and then lay-over and service at
MJX in a cost effective manner.
MJX has one runway (06-24) which is 5950' x 100' with ILS and pilot
operated high intensity lighting. This runway is certified to aircraft
up to 100,000 pounds per wheel load bearing and thus can serve all GA
aircraft including corporate. MJX will have a crosswind runway, which
will be completed in the near future.
Ocean Aire, Certified Repair Station (CRS # OF1R372K), provides aircraft
maintenance under Part 145 and Part 91. Maintenance is provided for
General Aviation (GA), including light aircraft and large piston and
turbine aircraft, Helicopters, Warbirds. We provide an extensive
aircraft avionics facility and a significant Parts Department. The
maintenance market is local and regional with most of the business from
aircraft based within 100 miles.
OA operates a flight school to provide flight training. The school is
certificated under FAA Part 141 which provides special privileges with
benefits and responsibilities. This Part 141 Flight School provides
training for: Private Pilot, Commercial Pilot, Instrument Rating,
Currency, and new ratings. Training is based on the Cessna computerized
training program. This computer system provides consistent standards and
administrative control for multiple students and multiple instructors.
The flight school has a flight simulator to enhance the training
programs and to increase the efficiency of the system of training.
Ocean County is currently constructing a new two story Terminal facility
which will be completed winter 2011. The airport terminal provides for
OA administration, the flight school, flight planning, pilot lounges,
facilities, pilot shop, public facilities, conference amenities and a
small restaurant. The weather and flight advisory system is available to
the flight school, company flying activities, and the flight planning
needs of transient and based pilots.
